We Bring life to Work

There is a symbiotic relationship between the mind and body, the push and pull and even the ground to ether we work within. In that space, we find the sweet spot inside work and play, responsibility and freedom, business and consciousness and the grind and flow. In between is where Fluidstance makes workspaces flow. This is where we found our vehicle to Do Epic Good.
We Are Mindful Makers
As makers, we are always conscious of the footprint we leave on mother earth. From day one, we have tried to do as little harm as possible by making high quality products that will last, sourcing locally as much as possible, and prioritizing durable materials.
We are carbon neutral and plant 10 trees a day through our partners. And we give back—we donate 1% of our profits to the charity First Descents, and we have supported organizations such as the Santa Barbara Channel keepers and the National Parks Foundation.
Backed By Science
When developing our boards, we wanted to make sure we were more than just fun, we actually needed to deliver results.
Over the years, we have been independently tested by Mayo Clinic, Heeluxe Lab—an independent biomechanics facility, and by several universities. They researched the ergonomics of our balance boards and found the design to be optimal for the movement of the human body, from better range of motion to increased heart rate. Mayo Clinic has proven that our decks also increase energy expenditure.

Great, but With a Few Caveats
I had bought a glass whiteboard for my desk a while back but ended up hating it (mostly because it had a black background, and it was nearly impossible to find a dry-erase marker that would write on the surface). This one was quite a bit more expensive, but it had a number of good reviews, so I took a chance.I really struggled with how to give an overall score for this. It is a good surface on which to write, and the writing does not fade. What you write on it stays on it.My problem was actually with that very thing. One of the foundational elements of a dry-erase board is that you can, you know, erase it with a dry cloth. Not so on this. Every time you want to erase something, you have to spray it down and wipe it with multiple cloths. This is very tricky if you want to erase only one line of something. I use this for to-do lists and jotting quick notes while I am on calls. When it comes time to cross something off my to-do list or erase a note from a call, it is very difficult to precisely erase only that one thing. I have tried wetting only the cloth, but as it takes multiple passes with the cloth, I end up going through a lot of whiteboard spray. I have changed the way I handle my notes, where I fill the board up, and wipe everything down then it gets full. This is not a very efficient way of doing things, as I constantly have to transcribe things. Sometimes it works to wipe down half the board, transcribe my notes, and then wipe down the rest of the board, but this uses even more spray. Is this worth buying? Sure, but you have to be prepared for some of the downsides. The limitations probably come from the fact that they can’t put a proper whiteboard surface on this thing, due to the limitations of the material, and their desired aesthetic, so they get some grace from me there. Ultimately it is a pretty good product, it just has a few limitations.

Can’t return-Don’t buy unless you’re committed
for whatever reason, amazon or the seller prevented a return of this item through the return option for reasons no one has explained.. I had to fish around for a way to call amazon to try and initiate a refund and it turned into a game of pass the buck such that now the seller doesn’t want to honor my refund request as i’m out of the 30 way window. i have no use for this product. wasted my money. Shame on me for not thinking through this and realizing it’s not very useful if you have a laptop

Challenging to erase
I figured whiteboards were a 100% known technology so have been unpleasantly surprised that this pricey surface is is almost impossible to keep clean/properly erase. Tried a variety of marker and eraser types. It’s a lot of work to remove markings and keep smudge-free. My way cheaper Staples whiteboard just works better 🙁 Good idea. Bad implementation.

Impossible to Erase!!!
Everything about the design is great, EXCEPT the surface is Impossible to erase!!! We are using a name-brand (EXPO) Dry Erase pen, scrubbing with windex, scrubbing with soap+water, scrubbing with a dish scrubber, scrubbing with bleach, scrubbing with “simple green” cleaner – NOTHING will completely remove writing (written with proper “dry erase” marker with ASTM D4236 markings on outside of pen) from the surface!!! Beware!!!

I’ve been working from home for over 15 years now. And having good tools at home helps make working from home more productive. I would say that the FluidStance Slode Desktop Dry Erase To-Do board a must for a home office. So I originally got a Quartet Glass Desktop Dry Erase, which is similar to this but smaller and because it’s glass, some pens would appear too faded. Because this product is metal, all colours appear vibrant. It is bigger than the Quartet one and there is no tray underneath it like the Quartet but the ledge for pens (as you can see in the photo) is more than enough to hold 8 of the Expo pens (you can get a pack of those). This is great for when you’re on the phone for write a quick note or reminder. Sticky notes are great but I’ve found that often they don’t stick and they can get lost (my cats often take them because they figure their toys) so I’ll forget something. Being able to write it quickly here is great because I can then transfer it later to my to-do list. And then erase (I use the Expo White Board cloths).I know some have said it’s too big or that their keyboard won’t fit under it. You can fit a lot of other things under it. I can fit my Bullet Journal and pen case under it with ease as well as my mini-Apple keyboard.Edited to add Feb 2024: for those that find erasing hard with long standing dry erase markings, there is a trick you can use. It is similar to when using permanent marker on a whiteboard: Erase the area in question. It may leave colour behind. Colour over that area and then erase. It should erase clean.

Great product, the metal is a sturdy but not too thick. It blends in nicely to my workspace and works great in saving paper and making notes or reminders more prominent.

I should have mesured my keyboard before buying (it’s not that big and it doesn’t fit under it 😅)It’s pretty sturdy and looks nice though.

Mine arrived in perfect condition, and works well on my desk. Offers nice storage space below that allows me to push my keyboard underneath when I need to use the notepad for longer notes.Marker tip eraser is more than enough to cleanly erase marker without any smudging or notice of old writing.
