Very simple set up
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Hume Health Body Pod Scale, but it’s honestly been a game changer for me. Instructions in users manual are in German! Online help in English refers to the users manual.
The product shipped with a users manual that was entirely in German, to me here in the US. While there is some help online in English, the English directions repeatedly refer the user back to the user’s manual for specific issues, but the user’s manual is in German and is no help. At first, the unit wouldn’t turn on at all. I took the batteries out and replaced them three times, per the advice of the online help. It finally turned on, but when I tried to pair it via Bluetooth with my iPhone, it could not find my device to pair with. There is only a one page instruction sheet in English, though it appears it was written by someone who’s first language was not English. For something whose initial setup seems extraordinarily complicated, the help provided by the manufacturer to someone trying to navigate it is essentially no help at all. After a half day of trying to do the initial setup, I gave up and returned it.

Sometimes the regular weight doesn’t tell the whole story, so having the body composition data makes a big difference.The app is pretty straightforward to use and syncs automatically when you step on the scale. You can track up to 24 users, which is great since my family can all use it too. The tracking over time is really motivating – you can see trends and progress even when the scale weight isn’t moving much.Setup was easy and the scale feels solid. The measurements seem consistent when I weigh myself multiple times. It’s been a good reality check and helps me stay focused on my fitness goals.Only thing is you have to make sure your feet are positioned right on the sensors, but once you get used to it it’s no problem. Overall really happy with this purchase – gives me the data I need to actually track my progress properly.

Accurate within certain parameters.
I can’t say that a lot of the metrics this scale generates are particularly useful, for the most part (fat/muscle mass per arm/leg/core, some other odd measurements) but on the most important one — gain/loss of muscle mass and fat mass — it’s a pretty good match with what a high-end “magic scale” (at my doctor’s office) measured.I have no real complaints, it does what I need within the constraints of its capabilities.
