I have another budget smartwatch (EF15) of the same size, with nearly the same design, with the exact same software, even came with the exact same packaging. It’s as generic as you can get; of course, with the only difference being that it’s OLED. That being said, let’s see how this smartwatch fares.❞🟢『ＰＲＯＳ』😊👍➣ Bright OLED display with deep inky blacks➣ Battery life can last decently long➣ Included stainless steel strap feels luxurious🔴『ＣＯＮＳ』🚩❗➣ Software doesn’t do justice to the display➣ Watchfaces are scarce and most of them aren’t good looking➣ Vibration too strong even at soft setting➣ Would’ve liked to see a rotating button🔵『ＭＹ ＴＨＯＵＧＨＴＳ』🤔💭AMOLED is a display technology typically used in high-end devices, so when I saw it being used in a generic budget smartwatch, I was quite surprised. I did a quick search on Amazon and most, if not all, cheap smartwatches use LCD. So this might be the first ever cheap generic chinese smartwatch to have an AMOLED.Build quality-wise, it’s a pretty standard rugged look with good quality metal, though personally I would prefer less embellishments, especially ones that look gaudy. From a distance though it looks quite premium and can easily pass off as a luxury item to the untrained eye.More on the display, it can get very bright which means it’s pretty legible when outdoors. The 480×480 resolution is also quite impressive, translating to a pixel density of 424 PPI, which is impressively sharp even among high-end smartwatches. And again, the OLED just makes everything look so bold and vivid thanks to the infinite contrast of the deep blacks.It’s just a shame that despite having an OLED display, this smartwatch still uses very generic software with little changes made to the default ‘template’. It also still uses the generic companion app “FitCloudPro” which is rather limited in features. For example, there is no watchface store. It seems that each generic smartwatch is limited to a certain set of styles; I do not see the same watchfaces that was present on my EF15, which also uses FitCloudPro. And the ones included on this EF16 are quite ugly in my opinion.I could go on about how the health tracking is limited to once every few minutes as opposed to once every few seconds, but let’s just conclude the features as a whole are quite limited in scope. You likely won’t be using this to monitor your health, nor does it motivate you to.One feature worth mentioning though is the AOD (always-on display). Thankfully they included such feature or else the OLED display would’ve truly been a waste. The only bad thing is that raise-to-wake doesn’t work while AOD is on. And you can’t really customize the look of the AOD.🟠『ＣＯＮＣＬＵＳＩＯＮ』Overall I have mixed feelings about this watch. I would’ve thought the OLED display would easily win me over, but the limited and ugly watchfaces, raise-to-wake not working while AOD is on, and the lack of a rotating button makes it less desirable than my other watches. But if this is your first smartwatch then you won’t have any complaints.

This watch works on the Fitcloudpro app. Through setting permissions, it is able to send notifications for calls, emails, messaging apps like Whatsapp and Viber, and many others apps. It is so convenient, as I could read messages without grabbing my phone. Though emojis and other languages like Chinese do not show properly. You are not able to respond to text as well. But these are not really dealbreaking issues.The app comes with a dial library for watch faces. The list is decent, but not as large as other watches I have seen. You can create a watch face with an image as well, but the customization is lacking. It is limited to a digital time, and there are very few colours and positions to choose from. You aren’t able to add the steps counter or heart rate monitor onto the display, which is a shame.The circular screen is large and clear, with good colour and resolution. The round display doesn’t really affect its functionality. The text doesn’t span all the way to the sides of the circle. It is easy to read.The menu and touch screen controls are intuitive. This watch has a menu and back button, which helps with navigating the menu more easily.This watch comes with a light. It is very bright, and is activated by a button. The button is by itself on the left, so it is harder to confuse it with the other ones. The light comes out towards the hand, which is good. My previous watch had the light coming out from the top, and it wasn’t easy to point. This one allows me to point it like a torch.The watch looks good. It has a high end aesthetic. There’s a bit more design into it than the standard smartwatch. The gun metal grey coloured metal case with some bright orange text is attractive. The thick bezels and thick angular casing gives a rugged appearance.The battery life has lasted a week without needing a charge, which is very impressive.The watch currently has a 40% coupon, so it is $60. This price is more in line with the other smartwatches that I have tested. Solid value.Five stars.
