Great product for moving at standing desk!
This is a great balance board for standing at your desk. It is sturdy and high quality. It is not like a traditional balance board — for me they require so much concentration that it would be difficult to work while standing on one. This balance board is easy to balance on. The main thing it is good for is that you can move while standing on it. I could easily rock forward-and-backward or side-to-side while working. The only reason that I gave it only 3 stars under pain relief is that my feet hurt more after standing on this than usual. This is probably because it is not cushioned. As described, the surface is non-slip. But there is no cushioning so it is not like an anti-fatigue mat. One other thing to note: this makes you taller so check the height of your standing desk to make sure you can raise it high enough.

Fantastic for standing desk
A few weeks ago, I spent 2 solid hours researching a dozen different wobble/balance boards to use while standing at my work desk. Ultimately, I decided upon this particular one and I could not be happier! The primary reason I purchased this was to provide my right ankle with continuous movement throughout the workday, as I have a chronic condition called Tendinosis.The board is super lightweight to move around, and curved (rounded) bottom of the board provides the right amount of movement for use while working. I’ve read that some boards are too wobbly, while others do not provide enough. This one is perfect!I use this to rock from side to side and to rock front to back. When using to rock front to back, it provides an awesome calf stretch and overall calf workout. When using from side to side, I can spread my feet really far apart if I choose because the platform is so long. Sometimes I will balance on one foot or do a walking motion on it to alleviate pressure on the bottoms of my feet. Another great feature are the grips at each corner. These prevent the board from sliding around on the floor when tilting from side to side.I always use this with my socks only. I found that if I use it with my tennis shoes, it is uncomfortable for me (too hard). The cushion on top is not super cushy, but if I keep moving around on it, I can stand for 4-5 hours straight. It would be nice if the board had thicker cushion on it, but it is adequate as it is. And, the grip pattern on the board keeps my feet right in place.If you are looking to add some movement to your workday while standing at a desk, this is a fantastic board to try.

Helps keep my legs and feet from feeling tired
I use a standing desk all day long in my home office. I rarely sit. I used to just use a thick pad but found that my calves, ankles, and hamstrings were very tight after standing all day. This balance board is useful and I’ve noticed a difference in how I feel after using it. It is easy to use, but you might have to raise your standing desk a little higher to use it comfortably. It takes a day or two to get used to balancing but the exercise benefits are worth it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I love this balance board. It’s lightweight and very easy to balance on. It’s wide enough to be able to shift your feet in or further wide apart comfortably and still have room leftover. It’s actually fun to stand on and I find myself purposely wobbling this way and that as I am working with my desk in a standing position, which relieves my stiffness. I feel safe on it. It was nice that it did not require any set up, just took it out of the box and placed it on the floor for immediate use. I am very happy with this purchase.UPDATED REVIEW: I found a downside to this board. After less than two months, the board makes a loud creaking sound as you move and balance on it which can be disturbing to others nearby, or even to you if you’re sensitive to noise like I am. For this reason, I have removed a star, though I tried to remove two stars but it didn’t let me. The sound is quite annoying. I’m returning it.

I’ve used this balance board for years and changed jobs, had to get a new one for my home office. LOVE this balance board. I stand at my desk the majority of each day and never experience foot fatigue, back aches or discomfort. Has good slip resistance /floor traction and grip, I’ve never lost balance or fallen off.

A “Must Have” if you use a standing desk
This balance board has encouraged and enabled me to use my standing desk for longer time compared to just standing on the hardwood floor. The range of motion keeps me from locking my knees. It also allows me to move my legs around while keeping my upper half relatively still so I can type. It is also great as a footrest when sitting down — it is great for flexing my ankles. My only issue is that the top layer of the cushioned top is peeling a bit near the center. Otherwise this is well worth the money!

Terrible Quality for a Really Great Concept
I love the concept of the Balance Board, and have been using it for about 45 days.It definitely keeps you moving and makes standing for long periods easier.The Gaiam suffers from quality issues, and Gaiam (the Company) has really bad support. I bought it in April and used it until Monday, when both of the comfort pads came off. I could see where they had used glue to affix the comfort pads; obviously the glue used was not durable. This is a potentially dangerous problem, since if you’re on the balance board and the pad slips you could very easily fall. I called Gaiam support on Tuesday morning, waited on the phone for 30 minutes or so, and finally opted to leave my number for a call back. 52 hours later and I’m still waiting. Doesn’t look like I’m going to get a call back…I also hear the balance board pop and creak a lot in the middle when I rock from end to end. I weigh 210 lbs (the max weight is 300) so I’m well within the specs. I’m afraid it’s going to break in half! If it does, that could also cause a fall.My recommendation is to avoid Gaiam. Find another manufacturer who makes quality products and offers quality support.

This product was cheaper than the other boards and I liked it because it was much wider and I am very tall. As it turns out, I don’t stand with the feet very far apart on it, so the regular ones would have worked just as well, but this was still way cheaper. Much better than a standing mat. The movements help stretch the leg muscles.

After two years of sitting at a desk and not moving around much, I decided I needed a change. Switched to a standing desk, but really struggled – I realize I am constantly switching positions while I sit in a chair – needed something to give me that feeling of movement. It’s great – not hard to use. Super comfy on your feet (I am barefoot). Good for balance and engaging your core, without being difficult.
