Works great as a digital scale. Simple to use, It changes units (grams ounces etc) easy. On/Off simple.The bluetooth is a yes but…..It seems to work with the HOTO home package. But does not pair with my phone like other bluetooth devices. It only connects when using the HOTO app.

This is a mini glass scale is and the perfect size for small draws/spaces.It’s a very accurate and reliable scale thats easy to use.This scale is sleek and looks even better in person so I don’t mind the 3 AAA batteries it requires when it’s so cute (Batteries are not included with scale).This scale isn’t fragile, it’s very sturdy and solidly built.Love this scale, it helps me make delicious coffee.

Smart? It’s actually quite dumb
HOTO HOTO HOTO… I’ve got a bone to pick with you. You make some good looking stuff. Bravo. But good looks don’t pay the bills and you’ve got to have some functionality behind your fashion or else you’ll flop. And that’s what the scale is, a flop.Let’s start right off the bat with a biggie, and that’s the batteries. This thing runs off of 3 AAA batteries. In 2023. You have “Smart” in your name and you run off of 3 AAA batteries (that are not included in the box mind you)??? That’s actually quite dumb. But hey, if you’re ahead of the curve, maybe you bought some nifty USB-C rechargeable AAA batteries (bringing this relatively cheap $26 scale up to a $42 value….yikes).The only on device control is the smooth knob. Smooth. This thing is meant to be used in a kitchen, where your hands are almost guaranteed to not be clean and you went with a smooth finish on a rotary knob? That’s actually quite dumb. But hey, turning the knob only controls the units so if you planned ahead that might not be an issue for you.But the knob also has a 2nd function, pushing it in. Pushing it in powers it on and then also functions as a “tare” button. Good for it to have that function! Except… the knob is positioned so that even slightly touching it is picked up by the scale. The video should illustrate this thoroughly. That’s actually quite dumb.Also worth noting that even though the surface is glass (fingerprint magnet glass), the rest of the body is lightweight plastic. I have nothing against plastic but it’s not very heavy and the grippy feet aren’t grippy enough which leads it to move every time you try to tare it. That’s actually quite dumb.I didn’t even bother with the app because I’m sure it’s actually quite dumb at this point (not to mention that it’s parent company Xiaomi was once blacklisted by the US DoD and listed as a Communist Chinese military company. But hey, that might not stop me from buying a FIMI drone in the future, but I digress).This was my first purchase from HOTO as a brand, and you better bet I’ve been watching them because they make some flashy stuff. But if THIS is the kind of idiotic junk that they create, then I guess I’m not going to be buying any more of their stuff anytime soon.

Not sure how long the battery will last, but I’ll update this review if it ends up draining quickly.Update 23/09/25: Same battery in it now, even with very often sometimes multiple times a day usage, great product.

I bought this HOTO Digital Kitchen Scale thinking, “Okay, I’ll weigh a few ingredients, be fancy for a week, and forget about it.” Instead, I’ve become that person—the one who measures out 43 grams of almonds like I’m performing a science experiment and judging others for their unweighed oats.This thing is sleek, modern, and so thin it could probably double as a coaster in a minimalist Scandinavian café. The display is bright, the touch interface makes me feel like I’m hacking into NASA, and it’s more sensitive than I am after watching a Pixar movie—picks up even a single gram difference like it’s gossip.I love that it switches easily between grams, ounces, ml, and lb:oz, because apparently butter in grams and milk in ml are entirely different universes. The precision (0.1g!) is chef’s kiss. It’s perfect for calorie counting, baking, or finally figuring out what “a serving” of chips really looks like (hint: emotionally devastating).Bottom line: whether you’re meal prepping like a boss or just trying to make your sourdough starter feel like it lives in a Michelin-starred kitchen, this scale is a must-have.
