Wow I actually had to turn it down from 6 to 5, this gets very warm / hot much better than the $75 sunbeam pad I returned to CVS didn’t get nearly this hot.

Honestly this heating pad doesn’t deserve a 1 star
This heating pad is advertised as 12“ x 24“. Those dimensions are correct. When I’ve purchased heating pads in the past, those dimensions are fully heated. In the case of this heating pad, as you will see in my pictures, the dimensions of 9 1/2” x 18” is actually the portion of the heating pad that heats up. The heating pad itself shows the portion by the little indentation dots that are on the heating pad. So I did not receive a “heating” pad that was 12” x 24”. I indicated portions in my picture that show where it does not heat up. There is a small portion in one of my pictures that actually jabs me in my skin when I lay on it. The design of the heating pad itself is not comfortable to lay on at all especially if you’re getting it to lay on for your back. It’s full of bunches all around all the edges. This is perfectly shown in my pictures. This seems to be durable heating pad, but it’s not. I can’t speak on the safety feature, nor the burn resistance feature because the heating pad never fully heated up for me. Well, I guess there could’ve been a safety issue if I continue to use it. If I continue to use it and it wasn’t working properly, it could’ve been a fire hazard. When I would have it on the maximum number of six, it would warm up. I would describe it as a lukewarm feeling. You have the options to have it on a certain amount of time or to go automatically off. That lukewarm feeling faded in less than 20 minutes and it felt as if I was laying not on a heating pad. This heating pad is a very poor quality, is overpriced and doesn’t work specifically because of its design. I do not recommend. Please find another heating pad.

Not sure it works via an inverter
Update: I was contacted by the seller when they saw my original review, and they assured me that what I observed was correct and expected behavior for this device. I added a star to my review due to their rapid response. As I have not really tested this yet in my intended application, I will reserve further judgement. But I am relieved that there seems to be nothing wrong with it.The item seems fine, but it behaves a bit oddly in my application. I bought this to keep warm in a small teardrop camper when sleeping. I plug it into a jackery (solar powered battery with inverter) that is sufficiently large to handle it. But unlike a smaller “regular” heating that I used, the consumed power is all over the map. Constantly. Wild swings from 0 W to 45W. No idea why. I’ve not tried it for real yet, just tested it. But I’m uncertain if it is going to work properly.

Great size and soft and comfy
The large size is great and it’s soft and comfy. I use this to warm my baby’s bassinet but I image it will also be great for backaches, during sickness, and for kids going through growth spurts or leg-aches, too.

not consistent
works ok for budget pad. but really annoying in that it’s often not consistent with heat e.g. I’ll switch it on, it’ll get warm then cool off, up the heat setting, it gets even warmer then cools off, etc.also, material is weirdly not comfortable on skin. i usually like polyester-like materials, but this one is weirdly pokey or something.
