Function vs Quality
I purchased and received the assist version of SportsRoyals power tower on Dec 16, 2023.I’m am writing this review 2 weeks after I assembled and started using it.Before purchase I had read most of the recent and top rated reviews and found them very insightful. But, I also noticed opinions varied based on expectation, fitness routine and stature.so, this is my 6 foot 225 pound moderately active opinion. The shipping box looked smaller than expected and weighted 86 pounds. The contents were tightly and securely packed. There is no user guide, and what many people have reported as terrible assembly instructions is really an exploded view of components. So, it helps with assembly but not well. I struggled until I realized the manufacture put an assembly video on Amazon. Short and not perfect but, using it in conjunction with the so-called assembly instructions, it was understandable. From the time I moved the shipping box into the house, assembled and cleaned up afterwards 4 hours had passed. I took my time, made no mistakes and used every part and fastener supplied. I’d call success. When looking at pictures that some reviewers have submitted, I noticed equipment structure was not always of the same design. Those reporting the most shake or flex where made with round tubular steel frames. Strong but hard to attach support arms to. The one pictured and I received was made with squared tubular steel and has an “H” style base. Not the triangular base some pictures show. Guessing the manufacture has recently re-designed the tower to address stability (Shake and Flex). The Amazon site says the tower supports 440 pounds, however, the so-called assembly instruction states 330 pounds. Could it be the result of the re-design? I can confirm that the top pull-up bar connection does creak under my weight as reported, but it doesn’t bother me or seem excessive or dangerous.I included a video. Notice there is minimal flexing. A result of the squared tubular steel I suspect. The steel is thinner than I expected which became noticeable during assembly. Do not tighten the bolts beyond tightly snug or the tubular steel will start to buckle-in. To be fair I have a tendency to over torque everything. I compared this tower with the commercial brand Hoist. There is no comparison in quality. The Hoist is many times stronger but also many times more expensive. Actually 4 times more with no assist. The questions is, when is strong, strong enough. The SportRoyal would never hold up in a commercial fitness center. But probably good enough for my home gym.I needed the pull-up assist to get my muscles started, and it functions as others have said. Not the smoothest movement but, it does what it’s meant to do. However, the seat is completely and totally in the wrong position for assisted dips. Online specifications say each of the 4 assist bands is 22 Lbs, 88 total. I tested this by placing two 45 pound weight lifting plates on the seat. This 90 pounds lowered the seat 75% of the way down. Removing 1 plate, 45 Lbs, raised the seat 75% of the way back up. So, I would call this spec accurate and not bad for functioning with bungees.Prior to purchase I could not figure out how the assist seat converted to a back support. So, I included the change-over in the video. Easy to do after a couple of tries. The manufacturer must have been concerned that the pulleys on the assisted seat bungee system would bottom out and get damaged. So, they included what they’re calling an anti-crash support. A rod that stick up from the H base frame. I included it in the video. Easy to remove or install but very dangerous. If you forget to remove it and you lose grip when the seat is in the backrest position, you could impaled yourself. In conclusion:The manufacturer designed a functional and well thought out power tower that gives me the exercises I wanted, accept for assisted dips. The build quality is consistent with what I expected for home equipment. The relatively low cost and light weight allowed me to try, lift and afford the purchase. I don’t expect the assist bungee system to last forever, but, it should last long enough until I don’t need it anymore. There are no other low cost towers with assist that I could find. Yes the top pull-up bar can be set at several heights but don’t expect it to be a regular adjustment, it’s too difficult for that. Also, the assisted seat travel length is fixed which makes the pull-up bar height dependent on it. All-in-all I would purchase this power tower again.

This thing seems well worth what I paid for it.
I have had this power tower for almost two weeks now and tonight was the first time I got to really get in a good workout on it.Despite what other reviews may say I have found it to be incredibly sturdy and stable. I weigh 255 pounds and I can stand on the middle bar and do negative chin ups of a sort where I let my arms all the way out and hang forward off of the machine, then curl my biceps to bring myself back up to the bar. I’m working my way up to doing real chin ups but this is all I can manage right now at my starting point. The moral of the story though is that the machine does not feel tippy at all until I get all the way out from the bar, and then it still doesn’t really move. I am not recommending that anyone do this particular move, just demonstrating the stability of the unit.Dips do not really flex the dip handles. They seem sturdy and secure. I kind of wish there was a low bar of some kind for doing Australian rows but that’s just because it seems more like doing a pull up. I have been doing the Australian rows with the dip handles anyway and I definitely feel that it’s working out my back. One day I will be able to do real pull ups but we all gotta start somewhere. The roman chair for doing leg lifts is one of the main reasons that I purchased this piece of equipment. I have minor back issues and traditional sit ups or crunches really make my back seem to lock up in some very unpleasant way. With this machine I can get a better ab workout and it doesn’t seem to bother my back nearly as much as crunches. One negative is that the uprights that hold the pull up bar seem to limit the grip variation available on the tower. I can do wide pull up position and chin up position but as a large framed man I cannot do a close grip pull up on the machine. This is a really moot point as I can’t do a close hand pull up anyway but may be interesting to some.I had no trouble whatsoever assembling the unit in about forty minutes with minimal references to the instructions. This is not the first time I have ever held a tool so YMMV.This is my first power tower and the very beginning of my journey with calisthenics so I don’t really know what I’m doing but I feel like I got a very decent price on a very decent piece of equipment that should serve me well for a long time.I am entirely confident that repeated and prolonged use of this power tower could be beneficial to my health. Buying it won’t do anything for you. You actually have to use the thing.

Good bang for buck but not heavy duty
Good overall. Easy to build. Mostly useful. “slightly” flimsier than I had hoped. Not really heavy duty but relatively solid. Very good price at least.

Fantastic trainer! Very easy to use and quick to assemble. Feels sturdy and well-built, with great stability. Compact design saves space, yet it performs perfectly. Highly recommend!

Works fine
Sturdiness: It’s pretty sturdy all things considered, but you have to ensure it’s on a level surface or it will shake a lot.Size: I mean it has a pullup bar, if you have a low ceiling then you may be hitting your head often, either that or just put it outside somewhere.Value for money: considering the price of some of them I think the price is fine. It’s not too cheap but not too expensive and it’s pretty stable if you have it on a level surface.

Easy to assemble and very efficient
This is my second purchase of this item. I shipped one to my home country and had one deliver here in the USA. It is very sturdy and I practice my pull-ups and hanging on it and also do abs. I personally assemble and it took me about two hours. Very easy-to-use and assemble even though it states it requires two people but not really.

Immancabile in qualunque home gym

I recently added this power tower to my home gym, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance and versatility! The build quality is top-notch, with sturdy construction and solid materials that make it feel extremely durable. Assembly was straightforward, and it feels very stable even during intense workouts. The range of exercises you can do on this is impressive – from pull-ups and chin-ups to dips, leg raises, and push-ups. It’s a complete workout station in one compact unit. The padding on the armrests and backrest is comfortable and well-placed, making exercises like knee raises easy on the body. I especially appreciate the multiple grip positions for pull-ups, which allow for variation and help target different muscle groups. One of the best things about this power tower is how much space it saves. It’s perfect for smaller home gyms or even living rooms, yet it offers all the functions of larger gym equipment. It’s great for building upper body strength and core stability without needing a ton of different machines.Overall, I highly recommend this power tower for anyone looking to improve their fitness at home. It’s durable, versatile, and delivers a great workout every time!
