I went many years without drinking as much water as I should, but I corrected that behavior about five years ago after a bout of diverticulitis. Unfortunately, my new practice of drinking at least 100 ounces of water each and every day means that sometimes I get sick of drinking plain old water. So last year I started looking for a way to enhance the flavor of my water a bit.Enter Mio, which I decided to try when I saw it on my grocery store shelf one day. There were several flavors to choose from, and the idea of making my water taste better made Mio an easy sell. I started using it once or twice a day and continued to do so for about six months. One thing I didn’t do, though, was read the label to see what the ingredients were.Fast forward to a few weeks ago. For at least a month or two prior to then, I had been having regular severe episodes of dry mouth and very badly chapped lips. I had no idea what was causing it and started to analyze what I was eating and drinking very closely. So one day I decided to look at the list of ingredients on the multiple bottles of Mio in my cabinet. To my surprise, there was one ingredient that just sounded like trouble: Propylene glycol.After water, the next most prevalent ingredient in Mio is “propylene glycol.” According to Mio’s website, propylene glycol “is a common additive found in many products” and “is considered by the FDA to be ‘generally recognized as safe’ for use in foods.” While that may be true, after doing some more research online I discovered that propylene glycol is a solvent used in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable, and topical formulations. It is also used in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. It’s also found in the stuff they use to de-ice aircraft with. The Material Safety Data Sheet for propylene glycol warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage.And they want me to put this stuff in my water???But here’s the kicker: One website told me “since propylene glycol is considered a humectant (it collects moisture), your throat can become dry after use and potentially sore.” Dry throat means dry mouth, and dry mouth means chapped lips. At this point, I was pretty sure I had found the cause of my chapped lips mystery, so I tossed out all the Mio I had on hand. And guess what? In a matter of days, my lips felt normal again. The chronic dryness and pain that I had endured for far too long was gone. (Interesting fact: Mio products sold in Canada do not contain propylene glycol.)A few days later, I came across Stur on the Amazon website. I was intrigued by the minimal ingredients in the product, and completely thrilled that it was all natural. So I decided to give it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did.After a couple of days with the Stur variety pack, I pretty much fell in love with all of the flavors. It’s so nice to have something *natural* to add to my water when I want to mix things up a bit. And the best part? Overall a very good option for flavoring water
I tried this item & the skinny variety pack. I’m giving it a 5 star review because in the grand scheme of things, overall this water enhancer is really very good. It’s hard to find a water enhancer that doesn’t have artificial sweeteners and uses stevia instead and the few others that do, I’m not all that impressed with. Everybody’s taste is different but for me I have found that stevia does not give me a terrible aftertaste like artificial sweeteners (aspartame for example) or sugar-like derivatives (sucrose, sucralose, etc). Nor does Stur have added chemicals like others do.However, much like any other sweetener, artificial or sugar-based, using too much will give it a very nasty or highly sweet aftertaste. My personal feelings are that some of the negative taste reviews are because people are trying to use an enhancer (of any brand) to make water taste more like juice when that is not their purpose. They are an enhancer and not meant to replace the strong taste of juice. But that is up to the individual’s taste as to the strength of the flavor. So if you’re looking for a strong flavor without a nasty aftertaste, enhancers are often not for you. And some people just don’t like stevia. It can be really nasty when used in excess…very, very little of it goes a long way. You usually get the same result happening with artificial sweeteners and too much sugar.I will say this though…I have tried several flavors now (I drink a lot of water) and I have enjoyed every flavor except the citrus. Like every other review I’ve read, it really does tweaking by the manufacturer. For me it’s like trying to drink watered down very sour lemonade.This morning I added black cherry to my unsweetened iced tea and it was a wonderful change of flavor! If I must pick a favorite, so far it’s a tie between the fruit punch & black cherry.I do wish though that they made an iced tea flavor in the liquid with stevia. They have it in powder form but that contains some actual sugar which I shouldn’t have.I also like the fact that I can adjust how much or how little flavor that I use! Sometimes you might want just a hint of taste but other times more will suit. The liquid provides that option.Some people have commented on the price but in my experience, flavor enhancers with stevia do cost more around here & the price per bottle is on average only a few cents difference than what I’ve found locally. Again, water enhancers aren’t meant to use a lot of at one time and I’m finding that my usage is pretty on-track to what is advertised.To make this even more of a great purchase would be to have an option to buy in the variety packs but let the consumer choose the flavors they like the most. Now that option would be a huge draw for me!

Für die Menge viel zu teuer und schmeckt nicht. Damit man einen kräftigen Geschmack zu erreichen musste man viel zu viel ins Wasser geben. Dafür ist das Produkt dann doch zu teuer. Da gibt es bessere produkte

I have tried 6 of the drops including the sachets and i must say they are amaing. I generally avoid sugar and sweetners and grow my own Stevua plants so it was a breath of fresh air to find these. It is nice that yiu have this range. Please make a COLA flavour as i miss this drink and buy it as Stevia drops from America so i would like to see it in your range. I would recommend STUR drops and powder to anybidy that wants a healthy fresh drink made with Love. Thanks to you all at STUR. Kindest Regards Mark Ward

So disappointed with this product. When it arrived I seriously thought it was a joke, 3 tiny bottles, less than 50mls of fluid in each and each one costing ￡3.49. Absolute con!! The taste of them was foul too, too much Stevia not enough fruit, actually tasted more synthetic than anything else I have tried, especially the Green Apple. I thought that I had finally found a product that was not only sugar free, but free from artificial sweeteners, ( I am allergic to both!!) that I could use and enjoy. Back to plain water, or fresh fruit juice and sparkling mineral water. Hasten to add, I will not be buying this again and I cannot recommend this product to anyone else either, sorry.
