Good powder on the market
I looked online briefly, protein powder that is on the market between whey isolate and vegan powder. This one from Vega gives more bang for your buck. More protein, more BCAAs, more ECAAs, and probiotics in one scoop. While each container having 45 servings. Meaning you get 45 scoops per container. Taste isn’t bad at all between peanut butter and chocolate. Since I mix this with almond milk, ill add a little bit of water for the powder to mix well and remove any clumps in my bottle. Still doesn’t taste bad.

Best Tasting Vegan Protein I’ve Had
I’ve been through a few different plant-based proteins (Orgain, Naked Pea), and Vega Sport is easily the best so far. It’s the smoothest, tastiest, and mixes well with fruit or even spinach. The sweetness covers that earthy “green” taste some people don’t like, though honestly I don’t mind it. Recovery-wise, I’ve noticed a real difference since switching to this. If you’re just looking for a standard vegan option, the regular Vega Essentials is solid too, but this one’s top tier. I’ll definitely keep buying it.

One chance I’m glad I took
I found this product by searching for protein powder sweetened with stevia. I won’t touch most of the sweetners used in sugar free products with a ten foot pole for various reasons. That limits my options. Wanting a protein that is also dairy and soy free limits them further. Before I found this, I was using my husband’s whey protein powder and doing my level best not to look at the ingredients. I’ve also used a pea protein that was sweetened with xylitol. Those are the only two things I have to compare this to.I don’t find this to be grainy or chalky at all, which I know is a common complaint for plant based proteins. I was nervous, but pleasantly surprised. It can get very thick, think like an actual milk shake. At first, I didn’t care for that so I watered it down. It grew on me though.Other reviews say that this powder is too sweet. That wasn’t a problem for me. In fact, I wouldn’t mind it a bit sweeter. Nor did I notice a stevia aftertaste. Stevia is the only sweetner I ever use though, so I might be used to it. As to the taste, it’s not bad at all. Not vanilla ice cream by any means, but I don’t have to plug my nose and choke it down.Maybe I’m imagining things, but I think I taste a hint of the tart cherry mentioned on the label. I actually look forward to my post-workout shake now and can’t wait to try the chocolate.

Taste, Formula Different and Worse. Disappointed.
Vega took a great thing and messed it up. Do not spend your money on this new product.Let’s start with how the formula actually changed. The calories per serving stayed the same, with still ~45 servings per container. Total fat dropped from 3.5g to 3.0g, saturated fat dropped from 1.5g to 1.0g. Total carbs fell from 6g to 4g, while sodium shot up from 330mg to 450mg. Protein was steady at 30g per serving, while calcium was depleted from 260mg to just 40mg. Iron increased from 5.6mg to 7mg, as did potassium (130mg to 160mg). The calcium decline was really unfortunate, since calcium is among the key electrolytes that require replenishing after a workout… you would think a “performance & recovery” mix like Vega’s claims to be would maintain a notable calcium level. The more jarring change was to the amino acid blend. I’m attaching a screenshot of the changes from the old to new formula for each individual component, and the new formula sees the total amino acid profile fall from 30.86 grams to 30.00 grams. Arginine, glutamic acid, lysine, and tyrosine are all now at least 0.10 grams lower per serving than the old formula, for example. Vega had a great amino acid profile in the old formula, and could have been perfected with some more EAAs in my opinion. Instead, they slimmed down amino acids altogether. Wrong move.In addition to the new packaging, everything else is different, too. The taste is different: my current tub of old-formula mix still smells like berries, even after being open for a handful of months. The new tub smells artificial and more salty, smells more chalky overall, in an unpleasant way. The color is now more artificially “berry”-like in the glass/bottle after mixing, which isn’t necessarily a problem in and of itself, but certainly doesn’t comfort me when the smell is less ‘genuine’ and the formula is weaker.Others have noted the lower fill line on the new packaging. The weight of the product is the same (4 pounds, 3 ounces for the big tubs) and the number of servings is the same (about 45). I can’t be sure why the fill line is lower, since weight and number of servings is unchanged, but I agree that it is lower. Instead of being about halfway up the tub, the fill line is now about a third of the way up the tub.I will be returning this product and will not buy Vega again unless they revert back to the old formula. I don’t care if costs are rising – for someone who is allergic to dairy and whey, vegan protein powders are a necessity. This was perfect for me in ingredients, smell and taste, and now Vega ruined it. To say I’m disappointed and frustrated is an understatement.

Luv Vega, but …
First, I have been purchasing Vega products since they came out on the market, and I am a huge fan of Brendan Brazier who is a co-founder (I highly recommend his first book, THRIVE the vegan nutrition guide to optimal performance in sports and life – – I’ve had it for years, and I still use it as a reference).BUT,a) I agree with the person who commented about the waste of plastic – the tubs are nearly twice as big as the contents they hold, and the plastic is needlessly thick. It literally hurts me to buy new tubs of protein powder; it’s just so environmentally irresponsible not to come up with a recycled paper bag option or even a recycled cardboard tub option (I would prefer the bag)b) I bought the chocolate flavor and am now “suffering” through it (contrary to what others say, I don’t feel it’s chocolatey at all). The vanilla is their best flavor and I suspect their best seller. However, all of their flavors are too sweet; imho they could cut back on the stevia by about half.c) @ VEGA: PLEASE OFFER AN UNFLAVORED & UNSWEETENED VERSION… and perhaps think about dropping the price a few dollars (!)

Very solid protein, my new regular order
I have no complaints, it gets the job done and the taste isn’t rough at all. My stomach isn’t bloated after, I’m full and satisfied. It helps me hit my macros, and the price isn’t bad. Just make sure you dig a bit to find the scoop mine was all the way at the bottom.

Liked the taste, high protein, and tart cherry for recovery. Even more palatable with magnolia uht chocolate milk. Fairly good product ingredient transparency. Looking forward to buying more when it gets restocked as it runs out so fast. #athlete

Among those who wish to go for Plant based good quality protein.Go for this1.It mixes very well even better than whey2.Taste is good enough (Vanilla Flavour)3.Has very good amount of protein per scoop. But it is bit costly, perhaps because of Import duties.

This product was disgusting . It made the protein shake lumpy and looked and tasted like soap. Also Amazon doesn’t accept returns for it so this was a waste of money. Pls don’t invest in this product.

First plant based powder I have used and definitely an acquired taste! Also provides a different consistency when using in things like smoothies and porridge.
