Good cushioning
Very good cushioning for those who have knee/ankle issues. Much more comfortable than the thinner mats. I don’t slip or anything on the mat. It allows me to do my stretches and bodyweight exercises with cushioning for my joints. The mat is a nice size, too. I recommend this product.

Downside: Less stability
I was using a really thin yoga mat (about 3 mm think), which was hard on the knees and hips. I didn’t think there would be any downside to getting a really thick mat. However, when I took it to class, I found that it was much harder to maintain my balance when standing on one foot, or when doing forward lunges. I wasn’t having any problem with these on my thin mat, but this thick mat introduces more wobble when balancing. I wish I would have purchased a half-inch mat instead of this. However, it does make doing exercises on your knees much more pleasant. After one use, I also noted a tear beginning on the rippled side of the mat, something which other people have also reported.
